Hey wazza, there is endless places you can go. Cape otway is nice and fairly close. Jump on google and look for national parks, most of the time you can camp there for free and they have toilets. If you need more luxury than that though you may want to look into camping grounds/caravan parks.
    Cheers, Josh

      Hey Wazza1978

I would suggest a start with either Otways or Wombat.

Edit, Looks like I came in second

Do you want formal camp ground? Like dandos in the otways?
Or less formal, like in wombat, lerderderg, off obriens rd, amblers lane, nice little spot at river, has a fire pit or 2, but toilet

Major creek is a good sport not too far away. Near Nagambie, take the Shep turn off on the hume.
Camp by the river and a few state forests not far away, as are the wineries.

Wazza, Lake Elizabeth near Forrest in the Otways is a nice spot, plenty of easy tracks down there, a few to steer clear of if you 1 up. Blanket bay at Cape Otway is also very nice, Mt Cole in Buangor State Park just out of Beaufort is another great spot only about an hour and a half away. Just depends what you want to do, plenty of great caravan parks down the coast if you want to spend time with the kids with a powered site and amenities. How long are you in Geelong for?

            Cheers Josh
