Bloomfield Track

Went for a drive up to Wujal Wujal (Bloomfield River) on Sunday for the first time. A very interesting drive (9 water crossings each way). Nothing too challenging. Some of the hills are very steep but didn't need low range. Come across a girl in a Pulsar and a guy on a motor bike on the exit for one of the crossing's dewatering their motors. This crossing was probably close to 50cm deep so it quite impressive that the pulsar actually made it across before karking it.

I didn't get any photo's as I was late getting away from home and didn't want to return to late, so was pushing along pretty hard, with my boys watching DVD's in the back.

If I go up that way again, will probably spend the night around Cape Tribulation, looks like there are some good camping spots in the area.

Last time I went there in the Lux loaded up, I did need low 4wd with a run up to get over the mountain range even though the road was smooth. What a difference the Prado is in regards to power.
I agree that it is a spot worth seeing more than once.

Last time I went up that way from Daintree to Wujal (CREBB track) was in the dry late last year. The track was pretty tame, would be pretty greasy now, you did well Kevin without pulling the stick. There is a great overnight camp spot at Roaring Meg Falls (on the CREBB track), if you intend to stay and head off to Cooktown the next day.
