yes mate correct north of mareeba..
advise strongly against trying this place without all the extras for your rig or it will come home in pieces--BELIEVE ME. i had the drive shaft , sway bars , cv joints replaced after here... but thats why we have 4x4..
wont be going back there without winch and lockers..

Nothing too major hey Joey... hehe nothing a warranty claim wont fix!
Good to see we've got another Cairns lad amongst us... You'll have to come along with us on the regular scrub bashing missions that Joey organises for us.. hey Joey  8)
I think I know were you are talking about, I've been there.
My prado is not standard, BFG A/T's, 2 inch lift, bullbar, spots, dual battery, draw system and of course a fridge to keep them beers cold, good air pump, snorkal, etc, etc ,etc. I am hoping for front and rear lockers at end of year and when the tyres wear out, possibly going to go for Cooper STT's, see what happens.
Anyway looking forward to getting out there and finding more tracks.
Have been on many trips with Cairns 4WD club and enjoy there trips and camping trips. It is a club well weath joining if you are into day trips, driver training courses and camping trips.
Catch ya later.

Hi Kevin,
Would love too but have a appointment with eye specialist at 12.00pm, starting to find it hard reading close, may need glasses, bar--humbug.
Would love to go next time.

Crabby see how you go there are about 6 rigs heading up bloomfield track in a few weeks ..
sounds like your rig is the buisness mate you will have to post pics under show us your rig thread under general section...
i went out to 7 hills with a 4x4 club and when i got there they all had 5 inch lifts, v8's and custom trucks...they put my rig t6hrough al the gnarliest stuff they could find
was a good spot there though.. there are lots of tracks there that are suitable , and challenging without destroying the mighty prado..

any info would be good, tried and it didn't work, not good around computors, know how to the things on, ha, ha. (hopefully better at 4WDring.)
Regards, Crabby.
Crabby easiest way is to join photobucket.com and load photos on there..
if you use the search button on this website and put in loading photos, it should give you all the info..

Finally found out where this place is and headed out last saturday with BIL (watto1974).
Awesome fun, thankfully pretty dry as in the wet this would be crazy. we both had kids in the car so only did a small section in picture below (red part). Plan is to do the blue part when we get more time. The part we did was still 2 hours or so.
some photos attached but do not do the steepness justice!!!! My Prado is pretty standard except for lift and it did extremely well with the climbs and descents, was very impressed. the BIL's 150 also lifted with rear locker and only turned it on as he wanted to take some climbs slower (sook I say)...
Great views to lake mitchell as well

I went out there on a trip a few weeks ago with a mate, it's a great place some good views and hill climbs. lots of variety to test your 4WD. An of course some good spots to peel the rear bumper off....
