East to West across Queensland

Hey there looking for some info if anyone is able to help. I have done some searches but unable to find anything. Has anyone driven from Innamincka across to the Queensland coast around the Sunshine Coast area? Interested to know how the roads are, dirt, bitumen etc? Any info would be handy.

We did it the year before last but we circled a bit lower and came back across the top of NSW. Those roads were fine but I can't speak for the qld ones. Keen to know too though as we're looking at this next year.

Fron innaminka gravel to border generally and little bits beyond, corrogated but pretty much all weather. Mostly bitumen of various grades to the coast past the gas and oil fields

Yep, Innaminka throught to the coast is a nice drive, a little bit of dirt right out, but the bitumen goes further every time I head out that way. Make sure you stop at the towns on the way. Depending on how much time you have there are the opal mines at Yowah, Mud baths at Eulo (and grab some of the local honey, best honey in the world) and of course the fella at Cunnamulla. St George has the most inland winery and the emu egg guy is worth the stop. Get a feed at Nindigully pub, Goondiwindi is nice but nothing too exciting there then head through to Warwick for the windy cold experience. Last stop before Brissy is Aratula for an ice cream.

I'm heading out to Birdsville Pub to watch State of Origin III with some mates, we are leaving brisbane on the 4th July after the game we are heading to Innamincka and the back across to the coast to home. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks. Cheers Dean "GO QUEENSLAND"
