gday,
Long time drinker first time poster.
How's it goin?
I'm driving from the Sunshine Coast to Broome and back in late September and wondering if anyone's crossing the Simpson from Birdsville to Alice around that time? Heading up the Tanami to Broome from Alice after.
Would be cool to travel with another vehicle if anyone's planning to hit it at a similar time. Want to make the most of our time so a bit of support would be great as to not lose too much time for any unfortunate incidents.
I have a well setup 120s prado v6. It's my work car, im in ecologist/zoologist and most of my work has been in western qld, cooper basin and the central deserts. There will be 4 of us on board, all experienced operators- most of work has been on seismic projects in the desert breaking land cruisers in the dunes for a living. Very familiar with red sand driving, gibber plains and channel country etc. We are doing 10 days of crocodile research then heading back mid October, probably via the quickest route.
If anyone's keen to team up for any crossings we would be happy to offer any support we can aswell. We are quite familiar with the country and will be trying to photograph as much wildlife as possible so would like to mitigate any potential time loss. I'll have 2 pro photographers on board so can get some good shots of your rig in action!
Flick me a message or email at [email protected] if anyone is willing!
Much appreciated, cheers legends!
