The Tourist Centre is on that bit of road that runs parallel to the train track and parallel to the main road ..... and is over the road from the pub.

If you came up Dell Park Rd you will need to turn left immediately after the railway crossing .... and its 200 m up on the left.

If you came up the hill from the Pinjarra Williams Rd you need to turn left just past the cop shop (at the deli) and then turn right just before the railway crossing .... and its 200 m up on the left.

    Cheers

My daughter has just passed her driving test and has badgered me to let her drive down there to get some hours. Hopefully we will make it in one piece :!:
Mind you I'll need the 'P' plates myself for the off road bits

Hey Pomp. My son has also just passed his test and has said he wants to drive as well. 2 learners on the road at once could be dangerous. Don't know whether I will let him do the offroad bit though. He must be keen to get his hours done as he decided to give up horseriding for the day just to drive the Prado!!!

I guess we are all meeting at the tourist centre from 9 onwards.
due to the weather and the fact the river is the highest it has been for a few years I told Peter ( Emmetts winery ) that we would postpone dropping in.
That is not to say we cant call on any others that may be open. Emmetts is not normally open to the public.
So im glad we have a plan for lunch at the quindanning inn, although who knows what we do until then. Im sure for those that know Dwelly and the tracks well, we can get to the inn.

for leachy i now have a 2 inch lift and wont have all the passengers so i should not need to call on you for your winching services.

            See yall tomorrow

We can still follow the Fawcett Track directions ...... until we get to the river.

Then there are so many tracks around ..... and we've probably got 10 GPS units between us ..... that we can find a way around and pick the track back up again ... and push on to Quindanning.

I would like to have a look at the river crossing ... as I've never seen it that high ...... and NO ... I'm not thinking of developing a new line of Prado submersibles

So why is it we can't get to the winery - it seemed a good idea. I'm guessing it's on the other side of the impassable river? If there is still a chance I would like to go.

Also what time - an earlier post said 9:30 - now it's 9:00? I'll do what ever others want but given a preference (seeing we are coming from north of the river) I would say 9:30.

Also what radio channel are we on??

                  .

We have good news and some bad news unfortunately the water crossing on the track is 1.5 meters deep and flowing fast.
Can you please add us to your list

(We want to see RUSS do the water crossing    )

                  Thanks

the winery isnt normally open to the public for tastings, i had arranged with the winery owner for us to drop in. When he rang back and informed us that the river is flowing high and fast and hasnt been like that for years. he stated we wouldnt get across.
We also were in Dwelly on the weekend and popped out to lane poole and the river has got lots of water in (As rivers do i know).
When i hadnt gotten too many positive replies for the winery i rang Peter and postponed the wine tasting till next time we do the track when the river has settled and the weather is more favourable.
There is however a cidery down towards Holyoake which makes very nice cider. And a couple of other wineries that are open to the public that im sure we could perhaps drop in on. Newbliss winery, Plavins and riverbrook.
i guess in the morning when we meet up we can discuss options.
9 or 9 30 what ever time you feel happy with. We will be in town early as the cafe has nice coffee also for those hungry the cafe breaky is great and its a good price too.
For those with a UHF two way radio channel 40 is normally used. We will be listening, as our cd player shat itself today and toyota will have to send it to melbourne to get the discs out i hope i get the Hi-5 ones back.

                    Cheers

                    • Had the bullbar fitted yesterday and have just finished re-fitting the UHF antenna to it. I had previously fitted the antenna to a bonnet mount.
So Im absolutley soaked after crawling around the car in the pissing rain but we're all set and good to go.
Will we be on channel 16 or 40?
16 is the norm for PPersI believe.

                      • We may have to stay on uhf 16 as uhf 40 is used by trucks and we don't want to jam there frequency.
