  • Central coast into the watagans

    G'day guys,

This isn't much of a trip but it's going to be my Prado's first go. I plan to take her out Saturday about 2pm. Head up into Ourimbah State Forest via Palmdale (Wallaby Rd)... then make my way up into the Watagans or there abouts. Find a nice camping spot, stay the night and try out my new tent with a mate.

Any tips of a decent spot for camping out that way would be nice. I've got a rough map and a rough idea but it's more of an adventure than a planned trip.

    Looking forward to it already.

i'm out. doing the wiring in the rear of my rig.
i can only think of the common ones (pines and muirs),
and there is good flat spot on cut rock road (high end).
can't remember if the trees hide the veiw, to the coast 120' veiws

That sounds pretty nice... the pines come recommended. Think we'll just drive until we find something. I hope this weather clears up haha... damn rain.

You will need to intend to set up camp pretty early at the pines. Its very popular and fills up quick.

The Basin camp ground is pretty good too if you are only using a tent

The basin camp site is good, doesn't usually get crowded as much as the pines and muirs.
            Cheers,
