All invited to a tour of East Macdonnell Ranges

Date: 15th to 17th August 2008

Friday 15th- Leave Alice Springs travel Ross River Rd to Newmery Rd then follow the Ross River up to N'Dhala Gorge. Continue to Ross River Resort before crossing over to Arltunga Tourist Drive to Artunga for a late lunch. Have a look around then settle for the night in Ruby Gap.

Saturday 16th- Up early for a trip into Glen Annie Gorge (lifted vehicles recommended) for the many walks on offer. Once back at camp will retrace our way back to Artunga and then head North via either the Cattlewater Pass or Pinnacle Rd towards Gemtree. Here we can try our luck finding some gem stones or just relax into the evening.

Sunday 17th- A chance to sleep in, or head back into the gem feilds for a second chance. Checkout the local jewllery shops or get your lucky find polished up. After lunch head home via the Plenty Highway.

Camper trailers suitable, will need to carry in own water and firewood.

Seems like us Alice PPers can never arrange anything that we can all get to.

I will be heading down to Adelaide on the 17th. Hopefully getting the injectors replaced on the 18th then heading over to Newcastle on the 20th.

I am going to be doing the Binns track via N'Dhala Gorge this Sunday as per the thread in the trip forum.

Will be going around via Ruby Gap and Arltunga bak to Ross River then back to Alice. Nobody seems to be able to make it so it will just be the wife, kds and me.

I had no idea you were heading out Mav, should have PMed me as Fergs said. I dont get on the computer much theses days, im working on my draws.

For a while there you were quite active so I figured you would see the thread I put in the trip forum. Never mind, if you want to join us on Sunday you are certainly welcome to do so.
