Byrock 2008

G'day guys,

I've got a trip out to Byrock coming up... 30th Septemeber to the 6th of October.

One of my mates has been doing this trip since the late 80's. I'll be heading out from Cessnock in the 90 series...out to Dubbo...then up through Nyngan to Byrock.

Going to spend some time there before heading north to Bourke for a bit then back to Byrock.

I'm not the organiser just tagging along. Thought I'd let you know what's coming up and I'll post the pics when I return. First time the prado has gone west.

Anyone been to Byrock? They used to have the lizard races there.. this time I think they are having goat races hehe!

Hi Ninpo04,

It's great out west - and your going at a good time of year - not too hot and not too cold. Beautiful blue skies and deep red earth. Just watch for kangaroos at dusk and give way to those road trains. Pull right over.

I recommend the Bakery/Pie shop in Bourke for a gourmet coffee and a wide variety of gourmet pies. It's opposite the Central Park in Mitchell Street (Bourke-Brewarrina Road).

I'd love to come, but Ill be holidaying at Coolangatta that week :P
