I missed the trip to Bribie in August and it's been a while since the Prado's been off road so this Saturday the family are going to Bribie. The sun will be out and low tide is around midday so if anyone wishes to come along be at Bongaree caravan park aroung 9.45am (channel 15).I haven't been on the inland track (and have no idea where to get onto it) so it would be good to have company.Planning to do some fishing in the passage after lunch.

Re: Bribie Is Sat 25th Oct
I went the inland track around a month ago. It was very soft, but the recent rain would make the track a fair bit easier.
Do you know Bribie at all?
to get to the inland track you need to follow the signs to "White Patch"
(sorry the map was from "whereis" and it looks like it dosn't display)
removed link
Go around Bellara (follow the yellow line on the map) at the shopping center- after you cross the cannal turn right and follow the signs.
The access from the north is pretty well marked from the beach. I checked out the tides when I was there and it was better to go inland up (with the tide high) and run down the beach when the tide went out.
from Poverty Beach on the inland track.
If you have the dirty weekends book it has a route map of the trip.
You can also download the waypoint file (for a GPS) from the dirty weekend website.
http://www.dirtyweekends.com.au/index.php?MMID=13
And Sorry I cannot make it this weekend- I have a yearly beach pass though, so keen on the next outing.
Hope this has been helpful

In case you know what to do with a GPX file, here are some waypoints I recorded on a recent trip to Bribie. Unforutnately, I already overwrote my inland access tracks so maybe someone can capture that... or I will next time I'm up that way.

Re: Bribie Is Sat 25th Oct
I was hoping you would come along groovemachine, but at the end of the day your properbly lucky you didn't.I got caught in a hail storm on the gateway on the way home and suffered some minor panel damage and we didn't catch any fish.Bribie was great, it was low tide around 11am and being a Saturday few others on the beach. We went back via the inland track, and after some rain was only soft in a few places.

Hey Wattsy,

Of course, there are usually plenty of great gutters all along the beach. And yeah, I've had my unfair share of days with no or few fish. :?
Cheers,

Re: Bribie Is Sat 25th Oct
Bribie was a great trip up the inland track. Soft as others said as well, and you need a permit to get up there, but was a great sand driving experience and a great beach drive. Don't forget to bring the mozzie repellent though, as the top of the inland track (before you get on the beach) has great multitudes of them.
