My course is this Thurs and Friday so hopefully I'll get as much out of the course as you did.

We have finally done the sand course yesterday, having previously completed the introductory and bush courses.

It was a stinking hot day - temp in car read 39'C (You need PLENTY of drinking water). We started with 10 trainees, 3 of which were Prado's (the other 2 now know about pradopoint.com now) we lost a Pajero on the very first turn in soft sand when he became bogged ops: . It was funny listening to him on the radio trying to get the instructors attention who must have had his finger on the talk button telling us all what we were going to get up to that day, so he didn't here his pleas for help. It was discovered shortly after that he couldn't engage 4WD, so after nursing him back to the road, he left to return another day :cry: .

We continued down to the beach where we engaged in various maneuvers to work out our best tyre pressures. We worked our way down to 16 psi on all four tyres.

We had a lot of fun on the dunes and watching the other vehicles going through their paces. The Suzuki Vitara surprised us the most.

Towards the end of the day we did some recovery work and as none of the trainees vehicles had rated recovery points it was up to one of the instructors to TRY and get bogged. As much as he tried, his grunty tyres and low pressure (10 psi) wouldn't let him bog himself so he switched to 2WD and we had to dig him a hole. Along came Neil in his trusty Prado and pulled him out.

We highly recommend the Eureka 4WD training, the guys were great, we feel a lot more confident off road now.
