Thanks Fishnut, Deb and the furkids (for putting up with Jenna) for orginising a great day. Thanks to all for making a new Pradopointer welcome and I am keen for the next one. Hopefully I can drag Pam along. Oh and she had me out cleaning the tide mark off as soon as I got home. Some snaps, I have plenty more as well.

Re: Fishnut B'days & WA PP Xmas Run - Sat 20/12/08

Thanks for a great day out everybody.

I got home and whipped out the seats, then dragged out the carpet for a well earned wash.

Took a bit of doing, but about 1 1/2 hours had me looking at a painted instead or carpet floor.
We went out on the boat and checked out the canal lights and when we got home I got the hose out and gave the carpet a good wash. I was bringing out dirt from years ago I reckon. Ill give it another check tomorrow and then let it dry.
Its interesting to hear the noises that come out from the engine/ gearbox when you dont have all the carpet, sound deadening in the way. Had to bolt the front seats back in to drive it, So now I have a 2 seater prado 4 door panel van..... for a few days anyway.

On a side note, I had an alarm come up on the way back from the boat ramp.
The parking brake light and the ABS warning lights came on.?. Dont know if I have disturbed a wire, got water in something, or the trailer gave a funny error through its wiring or what ever.
        Will also check the tomorrow..

But I can still say that today was a great day. loved it.
Oh, almost forgot the most important thing........ I had to recover chippy from a wet and soggy predicament... he he...

Thanks everyone for a great day. A bit of Melbourne weather, some easy driving, some a bit more challenging some water and chocolate cake!

            Excellent pics.

It doesnt look too deep, but it was deep enough..

            ...deep enough to do this...

And if you wanted to know why they use Marine ply for draws.... check out the tide line on Chippies draws carpet. (light brown stain)

I mentioned that I had some warning lights for parking brake and ABS illuminated on my dash.

I think I got to the bottom of the cause.

As I was cleaning the carpets I also cleaned the bare floor of the car.
As I was doing that I guess I got a bit of water in this plug. Its for the rear ABS sensors.
Note, this pic is taken from looking in rear passenger side, side door. If you were sitting behind the front passenger seat, it would be under your thighs

Its well above the water level from the water crossing so it must have been me and the sponge.

Sorry I have no pics from the day, The camera was at work. I wont do it again, Promise.

Pleased to hear you found the gremlin Jeff.

I've only had to remove the rear-most carpet section and the drawers - and they were a bit damp.

It helped that the nose of my bus was a bit further up the bank ... so only the arse end was under water ..... and more left corner than right.

Andre reached behind his chair (in the back back) and yelled out that he was getting wet .... he had stuck his hand in six inches of water ... inside the car

There is still a tide mark on the jack, mud in the storage compartment on the rear door and 3 quarters of the rear floor space is covered in silt.

                Cheers
                Chippy

So I had wet carpet behind driver also. I pulled the cable cover/scuff steps up and squeezed the hand underneath to find it was VERY wet and also wet under driver's feet. So, out came the driver's seat, rear seat and a stack of clips and mouldings to peel the carpet back. It's sitting in the sun at the moment with a fan blowing on high.

Unlike Jeff and Chippy, I didn't get stuck and submerged for a while, but it turns out the large rubber bung/grommet under the driver's seat was not in it's hole, so as I drove through the deep water, it just flooded in - you can trace the mud flow from the hole.

I'm thinking there are a few bungs that are going to get a healthy dose of silastic before the carpet goes back.

Ok, I decided to go and take a couple of photos.

Here is how the car is looking at the moment (the green arrow points to the bung in question).

This is the bung that had dislodged - that's my size 11 on the driveway below

These bungs under the driver's pedals are going to get some silastic too

Thanks Leachy and Jen - I bet we didn't have as much fun as you two are... safe travels!

I think it would be advisable for me to pre-empt a water crossing haha, so I think a bunghole seal up is on the cards prior to going out with you lot !!! no wonder you have those perescopes haha.......... did I say bunghole sealup.... I forget myself sometimes lmao!!
