Part 8
From The Dig Tree we doubled back to Innaminka to take the Strzelecki Track south and detour to Cameron Corner.
The famous Corner store and pub are for sale... I had a momentary thought of how great it would be to live out here for a year or two running a pub, but the glare from the wife  soon put an end to that idea.
The track out to the Corner (still part of the Strzelecki) is mostly very good, with just a short and easy sandy section at the Moomba end of it. It is however a roller coaster ride :!: my stomach did several flips crossing the dunes!

Another Prado parked outside...

A basic bush camp site is provided across the road next to the Cameron corner marker. Camping cost is a $5 donation to the RFDS and the tradition to pay it is to wrap it around a coin with a thumb tack in it and throw it so it sticks to the roof of the bar...
...try it after a few beers.. not easy

About now the trip turned sour with my wife going over on her ankle. She was in quite a bit of pain and was unable to put any weight on her foot. After some quick first aid (couple of cold cans out of the fridge and strapping it) I was faced with getting her back to civilization for an X-ray and treatment. I had a non-stop drive to Whyalla ahead of me (nearly 900km) Still had time for a couple of very quick photo stops.
The first being the "Yellow Bus" between Cameon Corner and Merty Merty Station. A station worker used to live in the bus and it has the remains of a fridge and veranda remain as proof.
Pity people find the need to smash and graffiti everything? same thing with every ruin along the Oodnadatta  whets wrong with these people :?:

As we neared Leigh Creek a cold front came in, it went from 32 degrees to 19 in about 20 minutes with some good showers.
Stopped at the mine lookout just off the highway. Worth a stop, bit of boys stuff
