Have a safe driver Mav. Looks like you are taking it easy in Coober Pedy at the moment. We are heading out from Adelaide on Tuesday and going to Broken Hill for a week. After that we will be saying goodbye Grand Craps, hello ATZ.

Will be good to hear a report on how the MTZs go. I recall Mick said they wore really quickly to start with but now they are wearing quite slowly. He suggested it was the training of a trip he did. A few people I know with Goodyear Wrangler MTRs were talking recently about when they got them they wore really quickly to start with but they are going fantastic now after nearly three years and heaps of tread to go still.

not a bad average mav. Coober Pedy at 8:36, Glendambo at about 11:15 255kms. 95km/h average.

You wouldn't want to push along with a public page like this, the evidence could be incriminating...

This is the best use for the Spot IMO.

Actually I was just saying something similar to my wife this afternoon on the road between Pt Augusta and Adelaide there must have seen at least 20 highway patrol cars in that stretch.

The thought crossed my mind that if for some reason we were pulled over for speeding and I knew we wer not then I could export the track log with time stamps and GPS locations to present as evidence of our average speed. Yes it would be an average speed but I think it would have some bearing on the out come if I could prove we were not intentionally speeding all the way from where ever.

Re: On Our Way to Adelaide via Coober Pedy

We had an interesting trip down to Adelaide, lots of road kill which also means huge numbers of eagles to watch out for and they do like to stand their ground. As we were approaching Lake Hart I noticed a dark shape out on the lake about a half a km out from the edge. I said to my wife that it looks like there is a car out on the lake and she agreed. However when we got closer it was apparant that not only was it a 4WD but it was bogged down to its belly and then the UHF crackled to life and it was the occupants of the car asking people somewhere on the edge of the lake if they would save them some food as they were going to be there quite a while. I asked them if they wanted help but they declined the offer saying that they had 3 people to push and they were letting the air out of their tyres. So be it but I did put out a couple of calls to 4wd's heading north if they had a set of MaxTrax onboard if they would mind giving them a hand.

Don't ask me what possesed them to go out on to the lake in the first place but I guess some people will do anything.

                Short notice I know.

We are in the Riverland until monday night but free after that.

Well I expect to be without the Prado from Tuesday through to end of Friday whilst they fix the problems with it. So I would not be able to go 4WDing but we could always meet up for a dinner or lunch somewhere as we will have a loan car.

Not much interest shown by other SA PP'ers so far

Happy to do dinner one night (Friday best for us) if it can be organised.

                        Beyond Chaos for me.

I have so much work on this week I have had to work right thru Easter, and then a 3 day hillclimb event down south next weekend. Might be able to squeeze a dinner in somewhere?
