  • TRIP REPORT : Sun Aug 2 : WA Lancelin day trip

What a great day .... and thanks to all of those who made such an awesome turnout ..... but we're getting a bit used to that in WA aren't we

There's a new Pradopoint.com windscrren sticker doing the rounds of Perth

The hills around Lancelin got a little bit crowded with Prados.

Then I had to give the obligatory demonstration of HOW TO GET STUCK

Terry thought he would go one better .....

Then Neil trumped us all with this beauty

    Cheers
    Chippy

Well its like this I was driving along the flat top part of the beach following the tracks of the car in front unfortunatly he had got bogged and churned stuff up a bit when I got to go through I slid sideways and found myself stuck ops: The guy behind me bogged a bit further back and it was at this point we ended up splitting into two groups after everyone was recovered as the beach was to narrow to make new tracks and rejoin.

The half that carried onto Wedge made it, we meet some friendly locals (Gary and Janet) who told us about then showed us a quick way home.

Hopefully get some photo's up in the next few days

Thanks guys for another top WAPP day out.

Lancelin didn't disappoint today, The ups were very uppy, and the downs were very downy, Made both young and old scream or hold their breath.

Hopefully somebody got a pic of how Chippy got out of his "Bogging Retrieval 101" class.
            Top fun.

            Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

Thanks for another brilliant day out . At least it was not me who got stuck this time... Even managed to find a few mud holes on the way to Wedge Island but they were not quite deep enough for us to submerge Chris's Hilux. Will post some pics as soon as I can.

              Cheers

Re: Trip Report: Sun Aug 2 : WA Lancelin day trip

now I ask you...how can anyone have a better day out in the beloved Prado......awesome.

I dont know what our esteemed compatriots over the far east do for fun but they should come with us.....magic.

I doubt that you could find a better bunch of people to do anything with, very friendly and VERY patient when one gets rather bogged.

Chippy did a wonderful demo on getting stuck and having two Prado's to pull him out on the end of a winch and a strap at the same time.

Niel gave a great demo on the beach of how to scare the c... out of Pam....awesome job mate.
Thanks to Anthony and co for getting him out of there....very sorry for the people that couldnt get through the mess and come to Wedge with us. Maybe next time we can get all 19 cars through to the finish.

Cant wait till the next one, great to put names to faces and a HUGE thanks to Steve for the Prado sticker. Will wear it with huge pride.

                      Hey guys and gals

He sure did scare the c... out of me. Jenna wasn't helping matter much by asking if we were going to die? and listening to the chatter on the walkies about how scary our angle was. I was ready to run up the beach and jump into one of the other cars heading south after our wee drama, but I got back in and carried on. I am so glad I did!!

After we change the flatty we'll hopfully post the pics.

Thanks again everyone, and yeah too the wedge "locals" who showed us a shortcut home.

                      See you all again soon.

Anthony??? Cant remember Anthony, was that the travel companion in the white ute? or are you guys thinking of Bob in the silver grasshopper?

Twas a fantastic day!!! Got home to find out Bob had already rung the missus and told her that I became "temporarily detained".

I had a ball and so did the kids... the best thing, the car was working a bit today and only chewed up quarter of a tank!!!!!

Cant wait for the next one, AFTER i clean out all the sand

ops: Credit goes to Bob too, sorry ops: , all the drama I forgot that at one stage he was pulling Anthony to get us out. Many thanks Bob
and also to Brook and his Dad ops: for all the digging.

Our eldest daughter wasn't impressed we were so late. We got told off, we ruined her dinner apparently - we didn't think so at all. All good now though we picked up icecream for her on the way home

I wish I could take the credit for that, but I let my daughter loose with the camera and this is one that she took. I was quite impressed so I might let her take pics more often.
