For all Prado owners in SA, looking to organise a get-together/bbq....

Interested, then let me know.

Bbq/afternoon meet up

Idea - meet like minded people who enjoy their pride and joy Prado..... perhaps with the aim of organising a weekend away in the near future.

Time : Late Oct/early Nov.

Date: Sunday 15th Nov
Place: Goolwa Beach, meet Goolwa carpark at 11.30
BBQ: I will bring a bbq that we can set up and use, bring whatever food you want to eat

Unfortunately gents I will not be available around this time.

Got a family function on the 18th Oct, and then shortly we have a baby due, 2 under 2, should be interesting times.

I seem to be full of excuses lately but these are pretty good ones.

I am interested in a catch up with other crow eaters, looking through PP, SA has some great threads here for trips and build ups.

Anyway - look forward to catching up at some stage.

I'm pre booked on the 17th and 18th for some theory training. Should be interesting. Have some other training scattered throughout here and there as well.

Guys,

Sorry for the late response, just back from Rawnsley Park for the weekend. That weekend is out for me, as the wife is away and I will be looking after my young son, love to bring him along, but in the past 6 weeks, he has done, London, Scotland, Dubai, and just come back from the flinders. I am hoping he will settle back into his routine soon.

Perhaps we could try looking at a mornimg at Goolwa beach...... or even a bbq at a park to show off our pride and joy, and meet up to plan a future trip.

I'd be keen to meet up. Goolwa sounds like fun, was supposed to go there last week but went to Saunders instead. Somewhere that we can do some 4x4ing would be sweet.

A good idea.

I have yet to see another PP sticker on SA roads.

An initial-informal BBQ would be great.

It seems that it may be difficult to get all together but we should try to get a date that suits most.

I for one would like to try.

Great to see some of you are keen to catch up.

Ok, I will throw a date out there, and see what happens:

Sunday 15th Nov, could either be a later breakie bbq, or a lunch bbq on the beach (tide depending), kids welcome, I know they love to dig in the sand, and we could all try our hand at cockling.

Potential for all to drive to the Murray mouth......

I will just see what response I get for this date.

Dave, the 15th is cool by me but I don't think Ian can make it, especially a possible late breakfast following a wedding. :lol:

I'm keen. I'm a shift worker and on day shift that day so breakfast would be a struggle. But I can probably swing a few hours off and make lunch (presuming a third person doesn't run into me and it's back in the crash repairers yet again - twice already in past two months!!!!!)

A PP GTG would be the best cure for a hangover!! A lunch trip on the 15th would be good. I've been wanting to give cockling a go, but never tried as never had a 4x4.

The tides for the 15th are given below (BOM.gov.au). They are actually for Victor, but apparently you assume no difference for the murray mouth. I know a few guys who have been pushing all the way up to the mouth and they haven't had any probs (a little soft but not big deal). Apparently there are some oversize salmon trout running through there atm too.

Tides look pretty low all day.

Wish I could join you guys but we've been taking the Prado out quite a bit lately.

With regards to the tide height, how high is too high to bring the Prado onto Goolwa beach? I'm taking overseas visitors to Victor in Dec and wouldn't mind trying beach driving for the first time.
