Adam ~ we'll most likely now be heading to the Litchfield area the weekend of the 30-31 October 2009 instead of the dates you have proposed. Sorry.

That's Ok it looks like we might have to go back to Melbourne to sort our real estate agent and a few other things out. We can try again to make a date sometime and get muddy. Hope you guy's have fun if we are back we can possibly met up down there if that's Ok.

Hi all back in the NT. Well, my wife and I and a couple of friends went down and travelled along the Reynolds River track on Friday ( I recommend to do it over 2 days not 1 so much to see.) On the way there we stopped at Wangi falls and had a quick dip it was absolutely beautiful and refreshing but you have to get there early as alot of tour buses come along and all of a sudden it is packed. Then we continued along until we reached the track which is clearly marked on the road side. We found the track to be very easy lots of dust and corrigations, had the Micket T's dropped to 25 PSI which helped to keep the drinks in the fridge from exploding :evil: . The river/ creek crossings had little or no water the deepest was Reynolds river was only knee high, and the entry and exits were all fairly simple just becareful of buried sticks and logs with the pointy end facing up, we walker the river and dry river crossings 1st with the thanks to bevwone's advice in a previous post.
Sandy falls is an absoluty magical spot it is a 1.7k walk to them and well worth it, the walking track resembles a goat track climbing rock steps, some parts are narrow and the most important part don't do it in thongs the sand is bloody hot and take plenty of water the walk took us 35 mins. The falls were amazing the water in the swimming whole was so clear you can see the fish swim beneth us. But 1 word of advice when we drove into the carpark there was 6 4wd's there thats ok I like too share but when we walked down to the swimming hole the place was packed and there is not to much room around you are sort of confined to 1 area but everyone there was courtious and used as little room as possible.
We done the trip in one day 10hrs rushed 2 days would of been so much better so in saying that we are going to try and do it again in the wet season after some rain that will make the track so much more fun.
