OK guys we have obtained permission from National Parks to organise a private day trip along the Womerah Range track which runs between the Putty Rd, Colo Heights area, & the Webb's Creek area at the Hawkesbury River.
Please note that National Parks have stipulated a maximum of 5 vehicles per trip
Post up if you're interested :!:
This is a great trip; the track is easy/medium going these days as the old extreme "Heartbreak Hill" section has been bypassed with a new track. At the base of the hill is a small campground with pit toilet & a shelter (came in handy on the last trip as it rained). A few aboriginal sites along the way too. The track is about 52k's in length so it will also be a fairly long day time wise :!:
Unfortunately we have to pay National Parks for the privilege of accessing the area; cost will be $70 per vehicle. As they only give out the key to the gates one at a time, we are definitely guaranteed a "Wilderness Experience" as Ranger Richard puts it! No other vehicles will be in the area at the same time, it's all ours for the day. Of course being in a declared wilderness area, we will do the right thing & look after the place
Sorry for the short notice for this trip, there has been a lot of behind-the-scenes work to get to this stage. A big thanks to Ryan & Kenta for their input to make this happen If we can't get a December trip on the go then we may look at one for the new year but would be good to catch up with some PP members for the Xmas season.
PLEASE READ THE DISCLAIMER BELOW; IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO AGREE TO THE TERMS SET OUT THEREIN THEN PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND. THIS INCLUDES PRADOPOINT MEMBERS & THEIR FAMILIES & FRIENDS!

Meeting at: The Ampol garage on the Putty Rd, Colo Heights. The garage is about a 35 minute drive from the Windsor bridge crossing the Hawkesbury River. Just stay on the Putty Rd. & head north :!: It's on the right hand side of the road. You can fuel up here if required & there is a small shop & toilets also.

Time: 8:30 am, departing at 9 am. The start of the Womerah Range track is about a 15 - 20 minute drive up the Putty Rd. Finishing will be around 5 or 6 pm area. The exit from the track will be in the Webb's Creek area, those heading back to Sydney can take the ferry across the river which is right next to Wiseman's, & then back down the Old Northern Rd.
Bring: Prado, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, camera, sense of adventure!
*If anyone has a chainsaw....bring it along just in case we encounter a fallen tree across the track. Ryan & I have drag chains but if it's a big tree, could present a problem ie: having to turn around & go back!
*Please ensure that all people attending have shoes to wear; we may do a short walk or two through the bush to aboriginal sites if time permits.
We will be on Channel 16 UHF. Topograhic maps covering the area are: Six Brothers, Auburn, St Albans.
Cost is $70 per vehicle payable to Ryan as he has already paid NP for this trip.
Cheers,
Glenn
