Re: Sun Dec 6 : Sydney - Womerah Range track

    nice pics Rob.

Yeah, a good day. Great to go bush with the 4wds. Some of the views were spectacular! Well led by Glenn as usual.

I wonder if Ryan and Glenn have left Wisemans ferry pub yet???

Re: Sun Dec 6 : Sydney - Womerah Range track

      Great pics Rob

Well another great day out with some of the PP membership. Weather was good although it did get quite warm as the day progressed. Very dusty conditions on the track today & virtually no breeze

We turned onto the Womerah Range track off the Putty Rd. & aired down.

We stopped a bit further along to check out these covered waterholes used by the aborigines. Incredible amount of leaf litter & thick scrub, certainly not like it was it the old days

Next stop at another rock platform, engraving here is of a kangaroo but very hard to see unfortunately as they are not maintained.

Another stop to check the view.

This is a part of the top section of the original Heartbreak Hill section of the track. A new bypass track was put in years ago.

Lunch stop at the bottom of the hill.

Some shots of the start of the infamous Heartbreak Hill.

Four wheel drivers rock art....

After lunch, we stopped a bit further along & walked down to this cave with more rock art.

Last stop at more engravings, this one a large kangaroo.

A bit further on & it was the end of the track. Luckily the key fitted the lock on the gate & we drove through. Then time to air up.

Then back onto the bitumen, across the river via the Webbs Creek ferry. Ryan, Sheree & Glenn decided to stop at the Wisemans Ferry pub for a cleansing ale before their trek back north while the rest of us headed for home back along the Old Northern Rd.

Thanks to everyone who came along today to make it another successful outing. Will be doing it again another day for sure :!:

      Cheers,

      Glenn

Thanks to all for making this a great day
contrary to popular belief, Glenn and myself were well behaved and bypassed the pub.......after much decision making and were home in almost record time It is a really nice drive along the river line back toward the Highway via Spencer.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of doing this as an overnight camp with some friends.
-How long does it take to do the track end to end?
          -Are there any challenging bits?
-How far along is the camping ground from the Putty entrance?

          Regards, Jay
