TRIP REPORT : NSW day trip to Newnes S/Forest

A mate & his family may be available for a day out on either Monday or Tuesday. However, if anyone is interested in coming along you're more than welcome. Post up if you want to & I'll make this a definite.

Will be an easy day, mainly sightseeing with a nice BBQ lunch. May go to the old ruins at Newnes :?: :?:

We have confirmed our trip for Tuesday December 22, going to the old Shale Oil refinery ruins at Newnes. Have a visitor from England coming along to show him some of the countryside

We are now not going on Sunday but still possible Monday or Tuesday.

i would like to come and do 1 of these trips but i will be without the prado on 21st and 22nd is to busy, can you get a lowered commodore there? :lol: :lol: cheers samo

:lol: certainly, although it may be advisable to weld a heavy duty bashplate underneath it just in case...... :wink:

We had a very pleasant day out yesterday; visitors from Melbourne & England were with us & thoroughly enjoyed themselves. First stop was the Newnes Hotel, then across the Wolgan River, which is more like a creek at the moment, to the old shale oil refinery ruins. The works were abandoned in the 1930's & nature is slowly reclaiming the area.















We then headed over to the Glow worm Tunnel.

All up it was a great day out despite the odd thunderstorm :!: Can always do another trip here again if any PP members are interested :wink:

Looks like you all had a great time mate. Wish I could have been there but the car was unavailable today. I've always wanted to go there but work is always getting in the way of having fun. If it runs again and I'm home I'll be there.
