TRIP REPORT : NSW, Lidsdale SF & Marrangaroo NP area

I had a day out with some friends recently to Lidsdale State Forest for the first time in about 5 years & would like to go back & check out some more of the area including Marrangaroo National Park next to the forest. May try & find a way through to Mt. Walker from there also.

We would be coming in from the north side of the forest from the Great Western Highway about 10k's west of Lithgow. Some interesting terrain there with some steep ascents & descents. I'm looking to go through some new areas so don't know what it'll be like but there's only one way to find out

We are now confirmed for Sunday January 31st :!:

* For people coming from Sydney; we will meet up at McDonalds at Richmond, corner of March & Market Sts.
* Time: 7:30am, departing around 7:45am.
* Arrive at the entrance to Lidsdale State Forest about 9 to 9:30 area, from the Great western Hwy about 12 k's west of Lithgow.

Bring: Prado, morning tea, lunch, camera, sense of adventure!

UHF Channel: 17, this is to avoid interference from the mine sites in the area.

hmmm we are going to a 40th birthday that afternoon/night in Winmalee. Should maybe try and stay the night if I can talk the missus into it. We are halfway there then.

OK Oscar will see you at Richmond Macca's. Guys don't forget to bring your air compressor if you have one to reinflate tyres at the end of the day.

The air compressor was the first thing I packed in the car after the last trip we had. Its no good sitting on the BBQ in its box

Although there's been some stormy weather around lately, the forecast for Lithgow on Sunday is possible shower with temps from 15 to 24. Should be OK :!:
