Great day out at a nice leisurely pace. Thanks guys. Photos will be uploaded later on tonight.

FYI in the last video, the bangs are my tow bar hitch recovery thingy. It has some vertical free play and sounds like hitting a hammer on the tow bar when it hits the ground. I normally have a piece of cardboard jammed in there to stop the noise. Nothing to worry about.

And the video of Derek scootinmg around the outside of the mud pit was reasonably deep, i went straight through the middle and half way through i thought i was gone but the V6 power and the bridgies kicked in and i made it through.

Then Their was 3, they were dropping like flys (and some can't even wake up with an alarm)but 3 lonerangers, Hutch, Daytripper and Dereki push on and a great day was had by all.
We headed to the southern end first to check out the beach, this is the end from cutting one, great for the kids etc to play.

This is how my car started the day fairly clean!!!


Then we headed for the third cutting and stopped briefly at Freshwater day area and came across one of the locals.

Now over on the bottom end of rainbow for lunch, Masterchef Kelvin cooked up some gourmet patties and bacon for lunch. YUM!!!! good work masterchef!

The weather was great.


We headed back as the tide was coming in and a puddle on the way in, was a bit deeper on the way out.

After heading through the Freshwater Track we came home down the Cooloola way, this is where the most fun was had.
First my river crossing(covered elsewhere in this thread)
Then there was the mud hole which almost swallowed the 120 after i ploughed right through the middle so Derek and Kelvin took the high side.


Shortly after, was the clay track that looked simple but i managed to slip into the ruts and get some mud action going, the mud on the mirror sort of tells the story as there was a lot more of that all over one side of the car.



Airing up, i had to scrap the mud off the rims to find the valve caps.

And this is how the car finished the day, you can always tell if it has been a good day by how dirty the car is.

On the way home i had to detour into the carwash at Nambour to to clean the rims, as the vibration from out of balanae wheels was killing me.

Thanks, Boys. Great day out, now i just have to get the car cleaned!!!!!

Sitting here in Gothenburg in "sunny" Sweden (minus 4 degrees :shock: ) it looks like a good day was had by all.
It makes me remember why I live in QLD .... sunshine 8)
