88,000 Original miles

This vehicle is in excellent condition and was purchased off the original owner approx 7-8 years ago. Beautifully cared for a restored.

Full professional respray in original colour. NO RUST, NONE AT ALL! The rest is as it was back in 1964

Only thing left to complete would be an engine bay respray.

Only driven for local weddings. (Actually only ever driven for my wedding...)

Spoke to one of the Ford Car club members, tracing back the serial number on the Cortina, turns out she is actually a 1965 build.

Some memories seeing these here.
My dad bought 2 of these in the mid 80s for $200 when we were kids. He got one going, licenced it, and it was used for many years by us kids to drive along the 6kms of gravel country roads to the bitumen to catch the bus each morning.

Dad arranged with other farmers living along the road that us 2 x kids, then aged 11 & 8 would be travelling along the road each morning & afternoon to & from the bus stop.

Then on weekends I would thrash the guts out of the old Cortina, using the spare for any parts or damage done. It lasted well after my sister finished school, used them for farm work, shooting etc.

Its just the way things were in the mid 80s in our area. Many farm kids took car keys to school with them.
My kids sometimes dont believe me when I tell them these sorts of stories.

Sorry to hijack your For Sale thread, but couldnt resist. Whoever buys this, note, you cant kill these...

Haha thanks for that Daz. One of the reasons I posted these here is exactly because of that, plenty of us grew up with these cars and there are too many great stories around them.
