  • "PRADO" number plates (SA)

ITEM: SA number plate "PRADO". It will suit any PRADO because it's for a PRADO!

CONDITION: Currently registered. Non scratched or dented. Silver letters on black background. Front plate is slim, rear is square (actually rectangular). Rear plate shown on picture below. You can change it to slim/slim or square/square or standard/standard or slim/standard.. same for color, you can check for size/color at: http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/ezypl...au/WebContent/

REASON FOR SELLING: I sold my lovely Prado.... and plates don't match my current car (make/model).

PRICE AND PRICE CONDITIONS: Well, I have a number, but I would like you to make me an offer. I am looking for serious offers.

LOCATION: Adelaide, SA. I can post them (plates) Australia wide, it's not a problem, I can fill up paperwork (to transfer ownership) but to allocate them to your car you need to live in SA, unless you want to put them on a wall in your shed or something like that )

    Any questions - please ask!
    Cheers,
    Alex.

No idea re : your question...FWIW the No plate 1 Prado lives @ our way. I often see it, just never got a pic. It's a pretty average 120 series with a dull looking Sovereign Bar. I sometimes get the itch to stop the guy and ask if he's willing to sell....god I'm so sad....

The $$ is an amount you offer the owner, he is asking you to make an offer, so offer whatever you think this plate is worth to you.

Be aware that a SA custom plate 1-6 Characters costs $200 per year on top of your rego costs.

as an example some nice plates like "cruiser" in ACT for $15000
or "camper" (in SA) for $50K
and some (by my opinion) not really nice plates like "praddo" for $500

I know nothing about QLD plates, but personally "1 prado" would be better without "1"

I think not only in SA... otherwise they would cost hundreds of thousands like some historic plates.

Historic plates cost because they are rare and sought after numbers that are no longer available or only available at auction. I don't think they get charges $200 a year for Historic plates.

The $200 is relevant for SA because the plates on offer are actually from SA, and interstate costs are irrelevant for the plates on offer. You can't register a vehicle with SA plates anywhere but SA.

I'd rather have plates that belong to someone else...

I agree, Historic plates is a different story and you don't need to pay annual fee. Some people ready to pay and paying $100,000 and more for 2-digit Historic plate in SA, while they are (plates) still property of DPTI. Maybe except one special plate which has no numbers, no letters, just a small CROWN

You can't allocate SA plates to a vehicle if your residential address somewhere in VIC, but you can transfer ownership and keep them until you move to SA

Hahaha. I searched that plate a few years back and decided not to get it. My old story is embedded hear somewhere on PP. I thought , "what a great plate" then checked with the wife who turned to me and said "you know what the spells don't you?" No, I said to which she replied "WANKER" Needless to say I didn't register the plate but wish I had been my normal self and ignored her lol.

I can't see "WANKER" anywhere close to "PRADO", must be interpretation from a rare language

                    Anyway, they are still available

BTW I don't think DPTI will register a "wanker" plate )))))) Maybe I should try, just for fun))))))

I agree Alex, it just proves she is narrow minded and had ulterior motives for the spending of my money.

Best of luck with the sale of the SA Plates

Reminds me of 9 months ago went online to WA Department of Transport and was able to order online "PRADO 120" paid the $800 and 2 weeks later get a letter refusing the plates being issued

                            http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/media...pplication.pdf

"Make or model of vehicle" is grounds for refusal, when I rang they even said changing to "PR4DO120" even wont be accepted - got my $800 back.

I see on WA roads a lot a cars with Private plates showing make or model of cars - they must of been issued prior to changing rules.....

                              Thanks Kimboprado,

I contacted DPTI here in SA and looks like that's a WA thing. I had a Prado and "Prado" plates, recently transferred to another vehicle with no problems.

My wife had "Jimny" on Suzuki Jimny for a few years.

A few Adelaide car dealers holding some plates, I think Nissan dealer on Main North Rd. got "Murano" plate on Nissan Murano. Same for Corolla, Camry.... etc etc

PS: Pricing is different... state to state... rules are different... colors of symbols and backgrounds... So for SA "Prado" will be an ongoing fee of $200/year. For SA "Cruiser" will be $255.
