prado 120 calipers bolt straight onto a lux.
      pads and rotors are larger.

sorry mate, can't help you out.

have you tried wreckers? or even rent a car shops like thrifty for some of their wrecks?

Raydes I've read a few blogs about 120 brakes (& others) going to the floor if the pedal is held down - that would be rather disconcerting the first few times (don't know whether I'd want to get used to it!) though don't believe I'll be introducing that problem to my Lux by putting in the Prado rotors & calipers - feel that's got to be more related to master cylinder or the like.

As 8608 says, the Prado rotors, calipers etc are a straight fit up to the Lux, & as is in the order of 200kg lighter (both in standard kerb weight & GCM) compared to a Prado it should give me a fair increase in stopper performance, even though will still have drums on the rear.
I'll also be sourcing some braided steel flexible hoses to take out some of that 'squishiness' at the same time as well as a full fluid change. Others that have done this upgrade seem very pleased with the result.

I have had couple of leads today for wheels so hopefully will get something out of them but am still looking for brake componentry if anybody has some.

          Cheers

I have bendix 4wd pads and slotted rotors on my Prado and still think they are crap. There is no " feel " to them , I come up to a corner and brake , the car does not feel like its slowing down and then you have to stand on the brake pedal for the brakes to work and stop the car . "as is in the order of 200kg lighter
' I think you mean 20 kg.. 250kg is quarter on a TON that's a lot weight for brakes..

You may also have legal issues ,,ADR rules ect changing the brakes , All the best good luck

Hi raydes, not sure whether you may have misunderstood my last reply?

I meant to be pointing out that the Hilux is in the order of 200kg lighter than the Prado, both in 'showroom' type kerb weight & Gross Combined Mass (legally fully loaded vehicle & trailer), so my proposed larger brakes would always be retarding a lower mass than that of the donor vehicle, so yes, a LOT less weight to tame when I pull back on the reins.

I believe this is the same setup as the equivalent TRD version of my Hilux came out with.

                Sorry for any confusion caused.

                Cheers
