  • Wanted: 4 prado 120 series gxl alloy rims (found)

    Hello,

    I am after four Prado 120 series GXL alloy rims, 17x7.5 ET30 (no tyres) plus wheel nuts. Don't require caps as these won't fit on the camper trailer. Only willing to spend around $150 plus postage each, see this thread for more info on the rims and idea of postage http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post419884

    Boxes for the rims can be sort from tyre shops.

    Cheers

    Winston.

          Cheers but it's all good. At the moment I have 4 150 series GXL alloy rims (ET25). 3 of them I have fitted geolanders to prior to leaving Brisbane to Darwin a few weeks ago. I only found out when I returned from Brisbane to rotate my tyres with the ones on the vehicle that rims were not the same. (at the time I thought they were). If only I knew about the rim size and offset thread before hand. It will turn out all good. Worst case is I have to pay $320 for shipping unless someone is driving from Brisbane to Darwin soon?

          ***EDIT*** The rims I have are not 150 series. Still trying to workout what they are from.

            These are the rims that I want to sell soon:

            What vehicle do they come off? I have a 2009 120 series GXL and they don't fit properly and the centre cap is a different design. Looks newer. As stated before the stud holes are thicker and the bore size is bigger. I thought they were the early 150 rims... I have contacted the tyre shop in Brisbane and he is going to find out tomorrow what vehicle they came off.

              Spoke to the tyre shop in Brisbane today. They spoke to a fella who they got the rims from who states they are off a 2010 prado. A 2010 prado is a 150 series and they didn't come out with them. I sent them my photos and waiting for a reply.

                This actually looks like it was originally a standard 120 series GXL alloy rim that's been modified from an ET30 offset to an ET20 offset by adding 10mm to the hub. The stamp on the rim is 30 but the sticker reads ET20 offset with a CB110 centre bore.

                  Not sure about the sticker but I did some measurements:

                  Bore size is 110mm verses 106-7mm for my original rim that came with my vehicle

                  Measuring from the outer edge of the rim (caliper side) to the face of the wheel stud holes it's 128mm, my original rim it's 139mm. Give or take 1mm

                  Measuring from the outer edge of the rim (what you see looking at the vehicle) to the face of the wheel stud holes it's 70mm, my original rim it's 64mm. Give or take 1mm

                    From those measurements, it sounds like a ET30 offset.

                      Isn't the 120 series GXL rims ET30. In theory these rims I got would stick out (increase the track) by 10mm or so on each side of the vehicle compared to my original ones.

                      Still waiting for a reply from the tyre shop. Have called them each day for the last 3 days plus emails...frustrating.

                      What is the bore size, offset and thickness of the stud holes for a 150 prado?

                        Are they stamped as Toyota wheels or are they the Speedy alternative. Something in the dark recesses of what passes as my brain reminds me that Nissans have a larger centre bore hole than Toyotas. Perhaps these were ordered for a Patrol? In any case if you use a wheel with a larger centre bore you need hubcentric adapters. These are legal unlike spacers. As for the 120 vs 150 I beleive the bore to be the same. I test fitted my 120 GX steel wheels (17x7.5) and they bolted up ok.

                          Cheers mate. It's pissing me trying to find out what vehicle they are suited for. They have toyota on the inside of the rim...I cannot sell them until I find out these details.

                            Patrol and probably other Nissans are 110 centre bore. Stock offset is 0mm according to a bit of web research.

                            In this thread

                            http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...ffset-Database

                            the Speedy Grande is listed as being available in +30 offset which is the correct offset for the 120 series. Prado centre bore is 106. So something weird has gone on with those wheels I think.

                              Yes they are. But based on your measurements your original rims aren't what they're supposed to be .... my calculations are below.

                              The rim in question:
                              (128+70)/2 = 99mm
                              Offset = 128-99 = 29mm

                              Original rim:
                              (139+64)/2 = 101.5mm
                              Offset = 139-101.5 = 37.5mm

                              I haven't done any measurements on my rims previously but I will attempt to take some this weekend. As I have tyres mounted, the easiest way to find the offset is to lay the wheel on a flat floor with the hub side facing up.

                              Then place a straight piece of material across the tyre and measure the height from the ground. This should be the width of the tyre, W.

                              Then measure the height to the hub side. This should be the "backspacing", B.

                              Offset should then be, O = B-W/2.
