But why are the stud holes 20mm thick instead of 15mm like they are on my vehicle? The bore doesn't look like it's been machined out to 110mm but one could paint.

Your ones have square blocks around each stud hole, that's why the stud holes are deeper. How thick are those blocks? If they are 10mm, then I believe that would confirm an offset of +20.

I have the standard rims on my vehicle. These other rims I got in Brisbane for my camper trailer. So I didn't know they were the wrong type until I got to Darwin and went to rotate them onto my vehicle. The blocks are 20mm thick. 5mm more than standard.

I just got an answer from the tyre shop. These rims definitely came off a 2010 Prado (150 series). Even thou they are the wrong type. I have sourced some other rims in QLD and the tyre shop is going to cover the cost of these and assist in postage at this stage.

That is a good result though I still think there is something odd going on. Maybe a 150 owner who was in love with that style of wheel?

Glad to hear it's being resolved, it seems that these may have been modified to an offset to suit a 150 series. An offset of +30 would decrease the track and be illegal.

He was Lebanese which is irrelevant but they might have had different taste. When I was in the middle east they liked their 20 inch rims...

That's right. Putting these on my vehicle they would stick out more (about 10mm each side). What is the bore size and stud length on a 150 series? I thought it was the same as a 120 series.

I still need to know why type of vehicle these rims would be suited to (i.e bore size 110mm and stud length of about 25mm. 6 full turns of the nut equates to 15mm in length) so I can sell them correctly and the next person won't have the issue I had.

Miss communication with the tyre shop. They thought the 4 rims came to $150... Anyway they were not going to pay $600. I paid for the rims and the tyre shop is going to ship them to Darwin. It would have cost me $360 via Aust Post...Overall the tyre shop didn't have to do anything as this was a private sale as per say. The tyre shop customer has got new rims from them and had the old rims for sale. lesson learnt. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
